What it is
Botpress is a platform for building customer support AI agents in a visual editor (Studio), with knowledge bases, tables and workflows that take real actions like refunds or account changes. Agents deploy to WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram and your website chat, and hand conversations to people in HubSpot, Zendesk or Intercom. It doesn't charge per team seat.
How to use it
- Design the agent in Studio, mixing plain-language instructions with controlled workflows.
- Load your knowledge from documents, websites and tables so it answers with your data.
- Deploy to your channels: WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram and web chat.
- Hand off to a person in HubSpot, Zendesk or Intercom when a case needs it.
- Extend it with code using its SDK, CLI and API.
What it's good for
- An electronics store handling order status and exchanges over WhatsApp with no human involved.
- A software company resolving tier-1 tickets and passing only complex cases to Zendesk.
- An agency building and managing chatbots for several clients with white-label web chat.
Pros
- Native channels including WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and Telegram
- Human handoff into HubSpot, Zendesk or Intercom
- No per-seat cost: you pay for conversations and AI usage
- SDK, CLI and API to extend it with code
Cons
- Big jump from the free plan (25 conversations) to Plus at about US$150 a month
- The voice channel is reserved for the Enterprise plan
- Taking real actions, like refunds, requires connecting your own APIs
